The attached letter has been sent to the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport to acknowledge and thank the Ontario Government for its increased funding to public libraries.  The province is adding $17 million annually to the Public Libraries Operating Grant (PLOG).  The exact impact on HPL is not known at this time. In addition, $28 million over three years has been allocated to create a Digital Public Library that will provide access to digital content such as ebooks, music and audiobooks; research databases; special collections.  Letters have also been sent to other relevant Ontario ministries.
